SCI-Arc’s Resilient Futures Task Force has launched a public call for architectural proposals responding to the challenges of building in wildfire-prone areas. Titled Architecture After the Fires: LA in Progress, the event seeks design submissions for projects located in recently affected wildfire zones. Both in-progress work and speculative or research-based proposals are eligible, with all typologies accepted.
The selected entries will be exhibited in an open gallery format from August 8 to 10 at the W.M. Keck Lecture Hall and adjacent spaces on SCI-Arc’s campus. The exhibition aims to highlight innovative architectural responses to increasing fire risk, bringing together professionals and community members to explore new approaches to resilient design.
The event is free and open to the public, offering opportunities to engage with architects, designers, builders, and local residents. The deadline for submissions is Friday, July 18.
