Is the contractor right?

Hi there! I don’t typically do residential architecture. However, I was asked to help spruce up the front facade of this house. I added the front portico, better gutters and trim, and trim work around the door and adjacent window.

A contractor the client contacted (who does design build) said the proportions for the portico are not correct and the design does not fit the house. The final concept was eventually finalized with the client based on a plethora of requirements about entry access and size.

Is the contractor right? Is this portico that off for the house? I don’t typically do residential so any feedback is appreciated!
